Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat has recently attacked the impact of the British on India in a program. He said that the British have completely ruined India's ancient and rich education policy. Referring to a British committee, the governor said that the committee had given a report on Indian education, in which the Guru-Shishya tradition was highly praised. However, the British did the work of breaking this very tradition. Instead of the Indian education system, they implemented their new Western education system, which weakened Indian culture and knowledge.  | |
