The Canadian government has ordered Chinese video surveillance and telecommunications equipment maker Hikvision to shut down all of its operations in the country, citing national security concerns, businesswoman Melanie Joly said on Friday. Joly said on X that the government has determined that Hikvision Canada Inc.'s continued operation in Canada would be detrimental to Canada's national security. She said the decision was made after a multi-step review of information provided by Canada's security and intelligence community.  | |
